Prayer of Confession

Assurance of Pardon
"The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
As a father has compassion for his children,
so the LORD has compassion for those who fear him.
For he knows how we were made;
he remembers that we are dust.
But the steadfast love of the LORD is from
everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear him,

For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” 6 Then the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

Prayer of Confession
For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law and do them.” Galatians 3:10

Assurance of Pardon
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” – Galatians 3:13

Call to Worship
Hear the word of the Lord:
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Prayer
Almighty God,
We praise you on this Sabbath day for the gift of your church.
We come from different places and different backgrounds,
but this morning we worship You as one body.
We thank you for this day of rest,
and ask that you would bless us this morning.

Bless this body.
Watch over this people.
Care for Your church.
We thank you that we have members who love one another,
who are willing to take time to pray for one another.
We thank you for potlucks and Stewart’s coffee
and the many opportunities in between to get to know each other better.
We praise You that we can add another to the body with Cozanne,
Lord thank you for bringing her into our local church,
Thank you for her desire to obediently obey You in baptism.
May she be better off for joining,
and may we be more like you because of her contribution.

Lead us now as we continue to worship You in Spirit and in truth.
May our praises be an acceptable sacrifice to You.
