Potential Horicon HymnsAt HBC, while we love the old hymns (and there are many old hymns that we'll never stop singing), we recognize that musical style evolves from generation to generation and so we're working to slowly introduce more modern songs to sing on Sunday. The playlist below are some of the songs we're looking to introduce. The earlier a song appears in the playlist corresponds to how soon we'll start singing that song on Sundays.

When the Protestant Reformation hit the world, the reformers sought to go back to the Bible and reform the church based on the word of God. These reformers sought to regulate the church’s worship by Scripture alone, rather than by church tradition. This principle became known as the regulative principle of worship. Simply put, the regulative principle teaches that the church should only do what the Bible commanded. We practice the regulative principle at HBC and if you would like to know more, here's a sermon from our pastor on the subject.

At Horicon Baptist, we believe that every part of our worship service matters. Our goal is not just to “go through the motions,” but to gather together as God’s people, hearing His voice and responding with hearts full of reverence and joy. Our services follow a simple but powerful rhythm: God speaks. We respond. We hear His Word and we respond with adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and faith. This back-and-forth pattern shapes our hearts to live all of life in response to His grace. Here's what each part of our service means
Call to Worship We begin with Scripture that calls us to lift our eyes to God. He gets the first word. He invites us into His presence, not because we’re worthy, but because He is gracious. Followed by a song of adoration. |
