What is Baptism?
|
Baptism is a personal act of repentance from sin and faith in the resurrection (1 Peter 3:21) where a believer declares: "I'm done living for myself. My sin deserves death. But I believe that Jesus died for me and rose again, and I trust in Him to raise me too.”
But baptism is also a church’s act. It is not something we do alone. As a church, we baptize with the authority Jesus gave us — declaring that a person truly belongs to the household of faith. It’s how the embassy of heaven holds out a believer's passport and declares: “This is a citizen of God’s kingdom.” |
Whether you're a new Christian or have been walking with Jesus for years but have never been baptized as a believer, we’d love to talk with you about this next step.
